Brittany Murphy's Death Ruled An Accident

I found this article very informative about how Brittany Murphy actually died. I heard that she died of cardiac arrest but in reality the primary cause of her death was pneumonia. Also, it is really sad that she has died because she was one of my favorite actresses and in some of my favorite movie, Clueless and Uptown Girls.

Broadcast Journalism is airing news/ current events instantaneously through TV, radio, or the Internet.

News is an account for events that interest and concern the public.

Six criteria of newsworthiness.
  1. Unusualness - If it different, unusual, or out of the ordinary. Unusual is more often found in bad new.
  2. Significance - Important events that affect many people. (i.e. taxes, wars, scientific discoveries, the economy)
  3. Timeliness - Old news isn't news, it's history. People want to hear about things when they are happening.
  4. Proximity - People want to here about nearby events.
  5. Prominence - When well-known people, places, or building are involved.
  6. Human Interest - Stories about ordinary people or animals, humorous or dramatic stories, heartwarming or heart-wrenching stories have human interest.

Print Journalism and Broadcast Journalism

  1. Newspapers provide fuller coverage.
  2. Readers act as their own editor.
  3. News magazines provide in-depth coverage.
  4. Television provides the most dramatic new coverage.
  5. Radio offers excellent coverage of fast-breaking stories.
